The Insurance Councils Saskatchewan has indicated that agents should be taking continuing education courses that are technical in nature. CE Requirements in Saskatchewan
Most licensees in Saskatchewan selling general insurance require 12 hours of continuing education per year. If you have 25 years or more experience, you may not need as many hours. The courses taken in Saskatchewan must be related to the technical aspects of general insurance, or the management of an insurance agency. Here are the requirements set out by the Insurance Councils of Saskatchewan, from their website:
- Licensees are required to attain a minimum of twelve credit hours of continuing education each year.
- Licensees with at least twenty-five years of continuous general insurance experience are required to attain a minimum of eight credit hours of continuing education each year.
- Licensees who hold a recognized insurance designation are required to attain a minimum of eight credit hours of continuing education each year.
- Non-resident licensees are required to comply with continuing education requirements in Saskatchewan unless they can provide evidence they are complying with a continuing education requirement in their resident jurisdiction.

The Reasonable Man and Damages (General, P&C version)
In The Reasonable Man and Damages", you will learn about torts, negligence, cause (both actual and proximate) and the various types of damages that can be awarded to resolve disputes of tort and negligence. As well, you will learn how various cases such as Donoghue v. Stevenson (1932), Blythe v. Birmingham (1856) and other cases up to 1990 have increased and clarified our view of what is a Reasonable Man in the courts. This technical course is approved in all provinces for all types of licences, except Manitoba and Alberta. Approved in Manitoba for General only as course # 17437.
