CE Requirements in Saskatchewan
Most licensees in Saskatchewan selling general insurance require 12 hours of continuing education per year. If you have 25 years or more experience, you may not need as many hours. The courses taken in Saskatchewan must be related to the technical aspects of general insurance, or the management of an insurance agency. Here are the requirements set out by the Insurance Councils of Saskatchewan, from their website:
- Licensees are required to attain a minimum of twelve credit hours of continuing education each year.
- Licensees with at least twenty-five years of continuous general insurance experience are required to attain a minimum of eight credit hours of continuing education each year.
- Licensees who hold a recognized insurance designation are required to attain a minimum of eight credit hours of continuing education each year.
- Non-resident licensees are required to comply with continuing education requirements in Saskatchewan unless they can provide evidence they are complying with a continuing education requirement in their resident jurisdiction.

Money Laundering and the Insurance Industry, Part 1
This is a legal course on Money Laundering for all insurance professionals that require CE Credit. It covers the technical requirements for disclosure to FINTRAC (the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Center of Canada), money laundering laws in Canada, and the role of "the Act," known as the PCMFTLA - Proceeds of Crime, Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Act. This course includes over 40 different examples of how to detect money laundering among your clients. This technical course is approved in all provinces and for all license types except Ontario RIBO and Alberta. Approved in Manitoba for General only as course # 17427. Three credit hours total. Part 1 of 3. Note: you must take all three hours to received credit for this course.
