The courses below are all related to the technical aspects of life insurance. You can easily sign up and take these courses from the comfort of your home or office chair. The Insurance Councils Saskatchewan has indicated that agents should be taking continuing education courses that are technical in nature. Note that we often receive emails from our customers telling us how convenient our services are, and how much they liked taking our courses for credit versus the alternative of traditional in-person seminars.
Saskatchewan Life agents require 15 credits/year. All courses should be of a technical nature to receive credit, as stipulated by the Insurance Councils of Saskatchewan - please visit their website for more information. The Reasonable Man and Damages (Life, A&S version)
In The Reasonable Man and Damages", you will learn about torts, negligence, cause (both actual and proximate) and the various types of damages that can be awarded to resolve disputes of tort and negligence. As well, you will learn how various cases such as Donoghue v. Stevenson (1932), Blythe v. Birmingham (1856) and other cases up to 1990 have increased and clarified our view of what is a Reasonable Man in the courts. This technical course is approved in all provinces except Alberta, and for all types of licences. Note that an identical General and P&C version of this course also exists.
